How to increase your odds

how to score with hot imvu girls A guy asked me after looking at the website “So what would increase the odds of accepting a cold invite or friend request?” Some people never accept cold requests and some accept all of them. I tend to be somewhere in the middle. Everyone’s going to have their own things and I didn’t survey anyone else for this, I just tried to put down a few of my ideas to start with. Some friends may have a few good ones to add.

1. An Interesting picture and or a professional look. Your IMVU profile pic is the first thing anyone sees and is the basis for the first impression. Make it attractive and unique.

2. Not a Guest. Being a guest isn’t bad if you’re new. But if you’ve been here a while and you’re still a guest it makes you look like you’re not serious.

3. AP a must, VIP a plus. It’s not bad if you don’t have VIP, but it is a plus if you do have it.

4. Clever or funny tagline.

5. Matching or interesting things in your profile.

6. I like guys a little older in here. 18 reminds me too much of my teenage daughter and older guys have more experience and resources. Young guys also tend to want RL pics which are against my married rules.

7. If you invite IMVU Girls to the default imvu room that’s also a strike against you too, although that’s more after you accept the invite.

I love this new set of posts For Guys. Sad to say, I think a lot of guys could use it. Of course at the end of the day we care more about substance than first impressions and style, but just like the real world, you have to get through the door, and that’s where your profile matters.

I’m normally the kind of person who accepts anybody, especially if they are new. Though these days, I get like 5 invites as soon as I log on, so I find myself forced to pick and choose. I mostly agree with the rules you listed. I’d add…

pay attention to your interests. It’s amazing when I ask a question like what’s new, or what do you do in your spare time, 90% of the time, the answer is nothing! Is your life really so boring that you have nothing going on? There’s so much to do just on imvu, there must be something you can talk about.

It’s important to think about what you can offer, not just what you want.

also in that first minute, be interesting? thoughtful compliments are also appreciated. read her profile first, and find something interesting or complimentary or ideally both to talk about.

hopefully, kait, you’ll have a new post on substance later? I think learning to listen and learning to carry a conversation is important.

also, may be helpful to mention there are ways to get ap even without a credit card but they are tricky. also wait for a sale. the regular price is a complete rip-off. it regularly goes on sale for like $13 plus 25,000 bonus credits.

I can see where you’re coming from regarding how serious one is. However it doesn’t take into account the people who are holding onto every nickle and dime, and have more important destinations for their hard earned money than boosting their social status and dating potential. All in all it comes down to pride, ones ability to differentiate, leaving their bias at the door, and not discriminating because of an extra word above someones head. Besides… traditionally, guests are supposed to be respected. As the word suggests we are the guests, where as the hosts are supposed to portray hostpitality, and be polite. At least that’s what I say when people poke fun at my guest status… it shuts them up in a hurry… or they mumble to themseles as they stamer off, or give me one last insult before leaving me alone. “you are the host, I am the guest, and traditionally you are supposed to respect me.” is roughly what I say.

    • LMAO… So you think everyone else that you meet is your host and that the guest tag means you should get MORE respect? I will give you a pass and say for the record that you have only been here 3.5 months and that a guest tag doesn’t look that bad yet when you’ve only been here a few months. I didn’t mean to say it’s a negative if you’re really new. But I think your attitude and answer only illustrates the issue and why it’s seen as a negative. And if the guest tag doesn’t make you look bad, arrogance probably will.

But hey, you don’t really need to read a post about how to increase your chances of chatting with girls. I’m sure you have more than you know what to do with already! Please hold onto your money and spend it on other more worthwhile things.

i do have good friends with the guest tag. Especially for students, or people in foreign countries, paying for something can seem daunting, even though when its on sale, you can buy your name and 25000 credits for about the price of three starbucks coffees which seems pretty reasonable to me. But making your interests and tag line and profile photo interesting are practically free. Easy enough to earn enough free credits for one good outfit, and lots of public rooms with nice background. It is perfectly reasonable to decide you’d rather save your money for other things, but it is also perfectly reasonable that others are less likely to accept as a result.
